Backfire through the carb...
Two hands up if you've ever had a carb backfire so badly that you'd swear it was going to blow the bodywork off the car?

Same thing happened to me. Make sure you have a wet rag handy to put out the fire.

So THAT'S why they started making dashboards out of softer material... so it wouln't hurt so bad when it comes flailing at you !
