Ledge and his dash lights.
I was looking through ledges gallery and noticed a seat belt symbol as part of his dash lights. Does anyone know if this particular dash light is reqired by ADRs? I also noticed the oil can and engine symbol are in amber and not red, does this mater one way or the other?

Oil and Engine light is not required so therefore color does not matter.
I am of the opinion that a seat belt light is required for ADR's and needs to either go off when seat belt is connected or be on a 7 second timer. |
Correctomundo boxhead. That is my understanding too. But who knows...it is now 2005 so the rules are probably different to last year ;)
I think the colour is all about safety, as are most of the ADR rules. If the system fails (eg brakes) then the light should be red. If your fuel runs out, the oil disappears, or the engine seizes then you simply roll to a stop and call the RACV - but still safe so light is amber. Not sure this theory applies to the Ignition light. Perhaps someone who has the latest ADRs on CDROM can look them up and quote some facts. Cheers, Adrian. |
