New Shoes

G'day All

Finally I've got my wheels on NASSTY so I rolled her out for some pics. I've finished the assembly of the doors and I've posted some pics of the jag running gear on the chassis. I did this as we were moving house so I thought it would be easier to trial fit the front & rear ends and roll NASSTY onto a trailer instead of lifting her! The running gear will be stripped and reconditioned later. Now that the doors and wheels are on I can start to see how she'll look when finished.

Enjoy :)

Sure is looking good there Al.

It is a big day when you get to see them walk on there own for the first time :D

I was alittle sceptical when I first realised what mags you where getting but I must say they look better than I was imagineing in my head, the deep dish rear looks nice.

I wish my car had a deep dish on the back now :(

What tyres

What tyres are you running. Mine are very old Dunlop Formula W
and they are real tired.

NASSTY 04-17-2005 04:01 AM

Thanks for the comments.

Richard, I'm using yokos AVS Sport V102 tyres. 245/40/18 on the front and 285/35/18 on the rear. The rear tyres have a diameter 2mm larger than the front so they're basically the same height. I did alot a research b/w different tyre makes from independant sources (gotta love the web) and from what I could discern I think the AVS will offer a very reasonable cost/grip/wear compromise. Time will tell.

Looks real cool Al,
I luv those wide rear tyres. The rims are real smart looking
and good to see something different. What colour are you
going to paint it?

Looking good Al. Are your rear rims 10 or 11" ? Now that you've bought the rims and tyres, you'll have to go full speed ahead to finish the car. Wheels and tyres were one of my first big purchases, and it took another 15 months before the car was finished. As a result, my Yoko A520s were Flinstone hard. I have broken traction on many occasions, but the rear tyres are still like new. I think they're so hard that they'll never wear out.....

Albany - I like your Cobra's name ;)

The plan is to paint it a medium grey metalic with a blue pearl. No stripes. A little darker than Leeroy's newly painted cobra. The interior will be a combo of black and cherry red leather.

10"
I thought about 11" but it's harder to fit an undercar exhaust (which I want to do) and the $$ of tyres is horrid! Also I didn't want to overdo the rear rubber b/c at some point there must be diminishing returns.

Can't wait to get things finished but the plan is to have it at least on the road in 18 months.

Craig, after being in your car I find it VERY DIFFICULT to believe your rears haven't worn out yet! :D
