Gav, Wakefield is just outside Goulburn (NSW) about 2.5 hrs drive south of Sydney on the road to Melbourne. Nice and close for the Canberra people.

The NSW site has all the info.

Just need the same weather the Victorians put on at Winton and all will be well:D

GAV MILDURA 04-17-2005 11:19 PM

I probably should have known that.
I claim that to be my last dumb question for today.

Why would you put a chev in a cobra?

Make that my second dumb question for today.

pneall 04-17-2005 11:23 PM

Gav,

The answer to your second question should be" because thats what CS really wanted to do"

Phil:D :D

GAV MILDURA 04-17-2005 11:31 PM

Did ol' Carrol come up with the dark side thing do you think?

Ha Ha.

GAV MILDURA 04-17-2005 11:33 PM

I've posted a couple of photos of my radiator and supports what do you reckon?

Leeroy 04-17-2005 11:49 PM

Hi Gav,
radiator looks like standard commodore. I did similiar straps at top like you. One thing that happened with my setup is that in the 3mths driving around in undercoat my radiator must have been able to move upward over hard bumps and when ii was rubbed back there was fractures in the front area were radiator was hitting from underneath. I have now drilled holes in the lower posts and put D clips to retain radiator & stop it bouncing.

Last year I went to Wakefield as spectator and it was well worth the trip, on to put on your calender

GAV MILDURA 04-18-2005 04:45 AM

Leeroy,
My radiator has threaded studs to locate below that will hold it in.
(Thanks Mando)

Mando 04-23-2005 03:19 AM

Hi Gavin,
Your cars starting to look really good. Did you machine the inside of both top arms so the shocker spring wont foul with the arms, especially at full droop? The part Im trying to describe is where the rubber stops would have screwed into on the original Jaguar cars, about half way on each arm.

Regards.

GAV MILDURA 04-28-2005 04:00 AM

Mando.
No not yet, I spoke to Ian and he said that I shouldn't need to.

Looking around the gallerys there are a couple of different types of upper control arms with varying clearances.

I will probably be wrong and have to machine em' but I will wait and see.

Catch ya Gav

pneall 04-28-2005 03:16 PM

On mine I had to machine the bar that supports the top suspension arm so the spring would clear at full droop. Also the spacers either side of shock absorber mount need to be different lengths so the spring will clear. This applies to the top and bottom mounts. No such problem on the rear.

Phil
