Torana front suspension
Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has any pictures of Cobra chassis's with Torana front ends. I know DRB's use them but can't find much on the net about them. Thanks Dave.:) |
Why do you ask???
|
Dave - all of my DRB photos are of completed cars. This is the only shot I have, and it probably doesn't show what you need. It's a flip-front DRB.

Thanks craig,
Thats the sort of thing I'm looking for. I like the flip front. I wonder if i could modify my cobra body to do that. Any tips on going about it? |

All sorts of ways to make the front flip or lift off. Mine has slots cut into steel that allows a bar fixed to the front to slide into. This locates the front securely, and the back of the front clip is secured by dzus fasteners. It has proven to be very strong, and I've had the car up to decent speeds on the race track without it looking like moving. The attached photo shows the slotted bar. The shadow on the ground actually shows the shape best.
Scott OZVENOM changed the pivot point on my car to make sure the front could tilt without scraping the oil cooler scoop. His own car uses a totally different tilt mechanism. |
