Classic Revival Wheel sizes and offsets
Hey Guys I'm in the throws of getting a couple of quotes for wheels I Know what I want but need the offsets.
What have you guys used? Any help will be great. Gav |

I went with Oz wheels halibrand replicas much like Phil & Mike. I had 91/2" x 17" rear with 71/2" backspace & 71/2" front with 51/2" backspace. I wish I had gone for a bit wider on the rear say 10" just to get a bit more rubber & it fills the arch nicer also. Leeroy |

I'm with Leeroy , go minimum 10" on rear and I'd go for 8" on front. Would even consider 18" as tyre availability much greater. Phil:D |
I too would now like to have looked at 18" as the choices are better and I think they fill the wheel arch better than the 17" Trouble is you have to make the choice & pay to find out if you like what you got!!%/

I was looking through your gallery and noticed your headlights are P700s.I was wondering if you had any problems fitting the rubber gasket between the body and the plastic bucket? Mine dont sit as nicely as I would like. Regards. |

I am intaending on buying my wheels from American Racing wheels. They have outlets in Australia so I believe, I just have to get confirmation of the type of wheel I want. I have added a couple of pics of my tank straps if your interested, they will be cleaned up and powder coated yet but I'm pretty happy with the fit. Gav. |
Gav, Rather than powder coating, get yourself some POR15.
It looks like powder coat and some say much more durable than powder coating. Leastwise, you can apply it yourself and re-do it if you make a change to anything. Just don't overbuy it.....it goes a long way. Looking good mate |

I didnt fit the rubber boot gasket as I to had some trouble and just left it ? Les that POR15 is amazing stuff it goes on over anything and is a hard a steel when it drys. That stuff would be great to paint a chassis in. |
Ditto the Por 15. Just dont get it on your hands. Minimum 4 days to wear off.
Its a great product . I bought a litre and it just keeps lasting. Did all the suspension components and now doing under guard fill in panels. As Leeroy suggests would be great to paint chassis with it.It gives a rock hard glossy finish. Phil. |

Will you be able to remove the tank once the body has been fitted to the chassis? Even if you are able to disconnect the hooks up front, I cant see how you would disconnect the straps at the rear. Just a thought! Regards. |

I'll be your way next weekend I will ring. I'll use socket head bolts in th back and use a short allen key. That por 15 stuff. I looked today and nobody knew anything about it. Who makes it and who sells it? How much is it? What colours are there? Gav |

I've used ppc before and they offer a really good service by mail i bought some spray guns of them late last year and they arrived within 2 days good prices too as with wheels im in the same boat to wasn't sure if you could get 18's under the guards has anybody actually got 18's on their car the other thing i was wondering about was if you use knock offs do you have to change the offset to allow for the adaptor or is that built into the wheel jess |

ppc are really good as prices and service go i got some spray guns of them last year. regarding the wheel offset and sizes im in the same boat, i would like to put 18's on but would they fit ok and the other thing is if you go for the knock off type do you allow for the thickness of the adaptor or is that factored into the wheel as opposed to the standard 5 stud setup. jess |
