Daytona
Hi All
I was talking to Warwick a week or so ago and he was telling me that Cobra Kits will be doing a Daytona Coupe soon , He will be sending me pics shortly and i will post them when i get them Paul |

When I was there last, the Daytona was just about rolling. The chassis has nearly been fitted and Warrick has all suspension components away at the powder coaters last time I was down there. Still got to do all inner panels and few other small things, but it's looking good.
Warrick is not flopping the bodies, I know where they are coming from, but not sure if it's public knowledge...yet. So if you wanted one, Warrrick could set you up with Body/Chassis quite quickly I expect. Last few Cobra body/chassis units have been supplied in 4 weeks from deposit and rolling chassis have been taking 8 weeks. Now that's fast. I reckon Daytona would be perfect race car. You could fit full roll cage without spoiling the look of the car and you get that cool lift up/removeable front section. Plus of course better aerodynamics etc etc. It's good living local on the Gold Coast now, so much cool Cobra and GT40 action here. Just wish I had the time to make the most of it. :) |

I did discuss price with Warrick, but he hadn't finalised it.
It will be more expensive than Cobra, somewhere between $10k - $20k. You get more with Daytona, then with Cobra body/chassis unit. More like what you get with DRB GT40 unit. Daytona will definitely be supplied with windscreen and I expect rear hatch perspex and maybe front clip perspex. Might also be supplied with half roll cage. It will come with a fair bit of extra stuff. Plus you can see how it would be more expensive to produce. The Daytona body they use is not 100% accurate to originals, but I actually prefer it better. The one that Warrick is currently building for customer will be modifed so that it is as close as possible to original shape. A freaky thing, is that it actually looks like a Harrison Daytona, sharing the same rear guard lip shape as Harrison Cobra. :) |

I presume no pics are available as yet?? Am i right in saying that $100,000 would be about the right turnkey price? |
Wouldn't be that much would it??? I have no idea really.
I have some early pics of it, but reluctant to post them without talking to Warrick first. Will be better to get some current ones. What I do know...that Daytona is very, very cool. :D |
I was basing the turnkey price on a DRB at say $85,000.
If less than $100,000then Warrick is going to have a very successful car I think. The look is the important factor and any thoughts / ideas would be based upon that. A ride south soon maybe. |

Does DRB sell many? I would have thought the best ones would have been the Bendell ones from Victoria... he seems to know wht he is doing in the chassis set up anyway. |
