Hello to all from A cobra owner WANABE
Would aoppreciate advice regarding the purchase of my first beast. I"m in NSW, 5'10" and a medium to large guy with a pretty crook left ankle. Resigned to auto's only::(
For now I need an already built machine and have been watching carpoint etc for quite awile, where there seems to be cars priced around my budget $45K...but they just sit with no one interested in them. I am prepared to buy interstate and understand I will need to have the car blue slipped in NSW. BUT I really don't know what to look for with the ADR regs. All help appreciated and if you know some one with a car that may suit my needs let me know. Wanabe:D |

Welcome to the forum. Keep a lookout in Unique Cars Magazine there is always a few Cobras for sale. Thats where I found mine. :D Cheers, Bryan |
The best place to start is your local cobra car club. The people there will give you all the advise you need and most will know about cobras for sale. If you do find one on the net, chances are someone in the club knows its origins and will advise you accordingly. They may even come have a look with you if they are real nice.
They have a web site that will advise you of the next meeting and with lots of useful stuff. It is:www.cobracarclubnsw.org.au This forum is also a great place for advise. Alternatively if you are closer to the tweed than Sydney the Qld guys meet this Sunday for b'fast at santuary cove and every 1st Sunday of the month. Let me know how you get on.:) |

Take your time as the prices vary widely. Second hand cars are anything from $35k to any price. $50k assures something decent. Unlike most cars each Cobra is individual and that can be both an advantage and a disadvantage. One extreme is a car that has had more money spent than what the car is priced at, whilst the other is a car that you then spend a further $10 to $15k fixing. Remember one thing there are no limits with these cars and you can soon empty your pockets into the snake pit! Decide what you want - looks, performance, reliability (important) or all and then go searching. You are a limited comodity (someone with the dosh who is willing to spend it on a Cobra).
