Inertia reel seat belts
Can anyone indicate what is required of the seat belts?
I was thinking of trying to buy a pair off ebay but suspect I may just burn money. Obviously the webbing has to free from defects, is there anything else anyone can specifically mention that needs to be looked for to meet ADRs? Where have others bought their belts? Cheers |
Stephen, here are the part numbers for seatbelts as provided in the comprehensive classic revival build manual:
SEAT BELTS Sedan rear type inertia reel & stork. TRW part no. 1790227 mod. 22 Klippan part no. K2578. |
I reckon the G Force will have seat belt mounts designed for a particular type of inertia reel belt. Seat belts are not the sort of thing I'd be chasing a bargain on. Buy some good ones from a reputable company.
Klippan will make them up for you in whatever length you require and a variety of webbing colours. Cheers |
Must be new!!!
I am not exactly sure, but I was thought they had to be new seat belts, second hand would not pass engineering.
For the price, you wouldn't risk anything else. Phil |
I referred to the comprehensive manual also and ordered the Klippan K2578 in a short series as the longer ones I originally got would flap in the wind as thet did not return completely. Got them both thru Autobarn but they weren't all that expensive as I recall. My short ones are 1800mm long but blokes in the 90kg > have trouble getting belt on.:(
