I know it has been asked a dozen or so times but what are the offsets for the CR cars and what size rim is everyone using?
I have just gone looking for wheels and now require offsets.
I am intending on using American Racing Wheels 'salt Falt' which are a kidney bean style, alot of the Daytona replicars are using them.
The largest rim I can get is 17" x 11" but was considering 17" x 8 in front and 17" x 10" at rear.
Am I barking up the wrong tree???

I know the wheels you are talking about, they look great. I think some of the original 289 FIA cars ran that kydney bean Halibrand wheel.

You would squeeze the 11" rim in no problem and the fat 315 /35/17 tyre looks great and there's a fair variety of tyre choices available now. Price is up a bit on the 275/40/17 but not that much.

One thing to consider is the offset and whether the rim will support it. AR and Boyd etc wheels are usually a 2 piece wheel where the center is pressed into the rim and then welded in. The center is normally 15" in diameter and the rim has a lip where it steps down from 17" to 15". They need this step to get the tyres on and off. the position of this step dictates the maximum offset you can run and with the CR's shallow dish on the rears it might prove difficult to make. Most of these rims have a long side and a short as to where the step happens so they might be able to juggle which way round the rim goes on.

Talk to Tony at AJ's wheel service. He built the Boyd Coddington wheels on my wifes Jag. He's an agent for AR, Boyd and others and he brings in the rims and centers and makes them up to whatever size and offset you want.

You are right about the early 289 cars as that was where I got the idea from and after seeing Daytonas with the polished version I was hooked.
They make a realy cool centre spinner that now just spins off leaving just the hub with a spline, for official dutys such as when the car is checked for rego!!
The hub on its own looks cool with the American Racing Wheels logo.
