WASP 22 for transplant.
Finally after trying for two years to get my auto working for both the track and the highway I am fed up and parked the car. Planning on fitting a manual. T5 is the way to go I believe. Any ideas gentlemen re the refit.

T5
HI Richard,
I am just about to take out the Mustang T5 out of my car, Tomorrow actually, picked up the hoist from Beejay yesterday. I would like to get rid of it, from fly wheel to yoke including master and slave cylinders, clutch, starter motor etc. The T5 has been converted to hydraulic with the use of a Dellow bellhousing. Let me know if you are interested, going cheap!!!! I am replacing the Mustang T5 with a Tremec Tko 600 with the final ratio of .82. I am using a Yella Terra billet steel flywheel and Textralia are modifying a clutch to suit. I am using one of those hydraulic throw out bearings, a holden part actually and a Lakewood steel safety bellhousing. I am not sure how all this will work as I have not tested it yet, I will let you know when i do. Phil |

Haven't killed it
HI Richard,
No I have not killed the gear box, I am upgrading my engine and upgraded the box, It is still in the car and is running fine. I am building a 363 stroker and a Mustang T5 would not hold up. Phil |
I'd swap the AOD for a full manual stage 3 c10 with high stall.
Cheaper to purchase and no need to modify you car (pedel-box) to get it in. (Clutch pedels are over rated:) ) |
I don't see how anyone can drive a high powered car with an automatic ON THE STREET OR ROAD COURSE....unless it has a manual valve body!!:(
I put a blower on my '04 Mercury Marauder and got sideways with an unexpected downshift on a damp road......scared the HELL out of me!! It takes a long time to get used to the upshift and downshift patterns so I think any manual tranny is better in a powerful car...especially a lightweight COBRA!!;) My $0.02!! Coosawjack....aka: "Marauderjack" |
Reptyl,
How does the auto go on the track? I would imagine you would be good out of the hole in a drag race, but a bit slower than a manual when the going gets twisty? Ben |
