Parts gathering continues...
My coil-overs have arrived from the UK. I got them sent as two separate orders for "accounting" purposes.
http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e2...a/AVOStuff.jpg Why are there 7 shocks you may ask? The first order was for three shocks and four springs but when it arrived I noticed that one of the shocks was wrong. They were very good about it, corrected the mistake in the next order and told me to keep the extra shock for spares (or whatever)... The price for this stuff was pretty damn good too! |
What kind of money and where did they come from?
I was quoted a while ago at about 380 per corner and so I have made 25x25 mm rhs shocks for the time being!! Cheers Gav |
Gav, I got them from Merlin Motorsport in the UK.
Four units would cost 320 pounds + 120 for shipping. No more than $1100 AUS. |
Another option
Hey Gav,
Another option if you dont mind a little mucking around. I have used QA1 proma star alloy bodied shock. Ordered from the US they came in about $880AU delivered for 4, with thrust bearings and adjustment spanners. They dont come in the exact right lengths though, so I had to mod the upper\lower mounts on the front, and made the rear lower mount braket hole as low as possible to fit them in, and they look pretty right on the travel. I had the guy ship USPS EMS (which is pretty safe) and mark the value low, and I wasnt hit any duty as well. :) Cheers Andrew |
