sunday cruise sunshine coast qld

a freind suggested i go for a run to mount mee , he said lots of bends thru the hills , so we took the recon car on the weekend to check it out and its lots of fun some very tight corners and some very long straights and a good road surface. so now myself and a mate are going to have a play in our cobra,s . if anyone in southeast qld is interested the plan is sunday leave maroochydore around 10.30-1100 and head out to beerwah, thru peachester, to woodford . stop at pub drink beer. then head up the mountmee road up and over to dayboro . stop at pub drink beer have some lunch . then come back same way to play some more . if anyone is interested lets us know and will hookup somewhere .
darren .
ps that is this sunday 2nd july weather permitting

Sunday drive

U may struggle getting any numbers as the QLD Cobra Car Club has their monthly breakfast every 1st Sunday of the calendar month. Last month we had 30 Cobs at the breaky. A record!

sounded great darren, but as spookypt says, the ol' sunday b'fast is on. Matt, I am a go for sunday but the only thing that will stop me is the weather. Fingers crossed for a sunny day, but if it's raining I'll have to give it a miss cause the damn soft top leaks like a sieve. I could bring my wife's car but who wants to turn up at a cobra meet in a corolla?

Darren, I sent you an email the other day but having probs with the computer and not sure if you got it. Yep, I'm the one who went to Noosa Marine about the seats. They've quoted me $900 for a reupholster and have the heated seats fitted. A bit pricey, but they seem good. What did you think of their work? Anyone else you can recommend? We'll definately have to catch up another weekend and do a run.

Have you tried Anvid Upholsterers in Capalaba Brisbane.

They re-lined my Cobra and did a top job.

Speak to Dave who owns the business - just make sure he sticks to his price, but would work out cheaper than a marine place - uses top quality leather.

Good luck

Peter

Mr Fish... See you Sunday then... No excuses... Bring the Corolla if you have too. As the next few months go some of the breakfasts thin out a little because of events like te Nationals and what not. I'll be there in te ute or te rangie or something.
If you want an AWESOME job done on your seats ring Dave at ANVID as PCC suggested. They did my interior and wo it is a GREAT job....But be prepared to wait a few weeks/month or two to have em done..

See you Sunday!

ff, the guy that does the work at noosa marine is very good i have seen a fare bit of his work . i was very happy with the work thay did on mine .
you could also try chris baker in maroochydore he does a lot of custom and rod work . but heard he is a bit slow.
ps: dont let the name noosa marine bother you he gets the best materials for the job to be done .either car or boat , they had a few cars at the noosa classic car show last year with interiors they did.

well as good as ANVID sounds, they're a bit far away. It would mean I would be without the cobra for a while and "unfortunately" it's my only vehicle now, seeing as the 4wd gets picked up tomorrow after being sold. Noosa marine had a HUGE selection of materials and are the only distributor for a lot of the prestige leathers from foreign autos. And they reckon they can get it done in about a full day (maybe 2). Have got it booked in on the 10th of July, however the wife got done for DD on the weekend (silly woman!....and she wonders why I don't let her drive the cobra!) so it will depend on the fine they dish out to her.

Mt Mee is a great drive, enjoyable roads and great scenary.

Have done that run many times in the old blue Cobra when I lived in Brisbane.

Matt, you are going to hate me for this. I stand before you a humbled man, with a weekend off, a highly polished cobra with a full tank of PULP, a night at a luxury gold coast hotel, and a highly anticipated breakfast at Sanctuary Cove amongst a bevy of cobras and bikinis models .... (there are bikini models, right?) After all the planning, the cleaning, the bookings, etc, the wife has unfortunately succumbed to the latest nasty flu doing the rounds. She was bad last night, worse tonight, and even with the option of forgoing the stay down the gold coast and heading off from Noosa early Sunday morning, I just don't think she will make it. I just wanted to give you a bit of forwarning that I may, and probably will, stand you up AGAIN!.And due to the fact i am about to start a new job, it may be my last chance for a while to get down there. Once again, i apologise, and if anyone is ever up in Noosa give me a call (0413 810 585) and we'll hook up for a coffee/cruise. Hope everyone has the great day! Catch up one of these days,
Dave:(
