How's this for a shine?

A short time again you may remember a post made recommending a car-shine product called Car-Lack 68. Being the compulsive shopper I am (I have a house full of danoz-direct crap) I got online and purchased a bottle. A couple of days later, a well-wrapped bottle arrived and I gave the cobra a good clean. The verdict? great!great!great! very easy to apply and easy to polish off. I normally use top-of-the-line meguire's product and I reckon this is noticably better, and works out to be about the ame price-wise. Thanks for the heads up!

Oi FF. :p

Pic of the car looks good ... but. :) how we gonna tell if the polish is any good if you don't post a pic of the car dirty. ;) :JEKYLHYDE

And.... we want pics that YOU in fact polished the car......not ya good lady. :) :D on second thoughts...post one of the good lady.

ferociousfish 07-06-2006 02:07 AM

FYI the car NEVER gets dirty. God forbid!!...and the wife's too busy doing dishes and washing my clothes to pose for photos!!

Glad you like the product.

Bad advice on my part as now we will have highly polished Cobra's everywhere at car shows:o

Its certainly the bees knees:MECOOL:

ferociousfish 07-06-2006 04:12 AM

just out of interest is this autoglym product something available retail (ie in shops) or do I need to order it online. (if so, do you have a link?) The cobra can never be TOO shiny I s'pose. Pete, once again thanks for the info. You're a champ.

Nah, we've done that before. :D

Actually I'm just hoping we get 3 nice Cobra's to go down this year. Come on guys.

I've always used cheaper types of polish & wax. Then throw on quick detail for shows.

ferociousfish 07-06-2006 04:54 AM

i'd love to come down but a new job means that days off are very few and far between for a while. Maybe next year....We'll let the southern boys have it easy this year.:MECOOL:

Dave,

The Autoglym product is available at Autobarn and costs approx $40. Its called extra polish protection.

You simply pour it on give it a quick wipe and leave it for an hour. Then you buff it off - very little effort and leaves your car so smooth that rags will slip off it:MECOOL:

I'm a firm believer in little effort when polishing the car and that is why I use these products. The closest thing to Carlack is Bowdens wax polish, but for a deep shine I'd go with Carlack.

Forget all the other crap on the market including Meguiars. I have their polish at home, but would never use it as the end product is simply poor.

Enjoy;)

ferociousfish 07-06-2006 04:23 PM

I'm off to autobarn then!....

dbn04 07-06-2006 04:54 PM

let me know when you are back from autobarn, i will run mine up and you can polish it as well :3DSMILE: needs a good clean from last sundays thrashing  i mean cruising:LOL:

ferociousfish 07-06-2006 05:25 PM

yeah, of course, no problems. To get my address email me on eat****@goandgetstuffed.com.....

dbn04 07-06-2006 05:27 PM

does that mean no:p

Rebel1 07-06-2006 05:32 PM

I just knew as soon as we let the noosaites in, this forum would go down hill in a hurry.;)

I like it. :JEKYLHYDE :D :D

boxhead 07-06-2006 05:43 PM

I would say that is a rather emphatic NO

I am a bit shocked at FF for not atleast using an Australian email address, should have been eat****@goandgetstuffed.com.au
