How Much Did George Pay You To Say That????

Shelby Man

I also have known George for a very long time and yes, he is one dedicated man on a mission and I certainly admire his enthusiasm. I too have spent many hours with him in the workshop going through everything his cars are and some and I live in Sydney, yet always found the time to drop in. I take my hat off! His products are very much up there and with race proven technology, but, everyone on this forum has an opinion about every product the Australian market has to offer, each one of them is, of course, biast towards their own car brand. I don't believe "Jealous" is an appropriate word, nobody is jealous of anybody's car. Everybody has their own taste built into their own car. You sound like you are pi$$ed off about something  , don't be, life's too short!

ps: you sure you're not George in disguise?? It sure sounds like it.

I guess if I had bought a Python, Mikie Shoemucker could say he had the same car as me, not the other way around....wouldn't that be something...as for Python, no one is downgrading the car....why get miffed about nothing here? And no one said George was a bad guy either....and his Python is heaps different than the Python out of Sri Lanka.. and...how could I be jealous when I have a gorgeous car like my hump-a-lump....wow, check it out.... now my numbers are moving again.....

Sorry you feel that way Shelby Man. There's no doubt George is passionate about his Cobras but there's no need for him to poo poo all the other cobras out there in the same breath.

I'm not jealous of Python owners in the least. Neither am I jealous of any other Cobra out there (With exception perhaps to some of the machinery from Kirkham).

We are all building or have bought hand built sports cars. Perhaps some of the owners of these "hand built sports cars to the highest quality to the highest quality" should attend a few Cobra events like the nationals or Shelbyfest and see how they fare against the rest of the cobra comunity.

Personally I can't wait to mix it up with the other cobras out there when mine is on the road/track. Whether the other cars be faster or slower, more accurate looking or with bigger engines or what ever. Building and running these cars is great fun and thats what Cobras are all about.

I've found many good friendships out of these cars and I don't think the manufacturer of the Cobra or the skill of the builder has ever factored into that.

Elitists generally end up being a lonely bunch.

Hope to see you at an event some time enjoying the fun with the rest of us.

Cheers

edited for crappy spelling

I have it disagree with that! Even though it was some time ago now (and things may have changed), I travelled some 3500kms specifically to see Python with the intention of writing a cheque then and there. His personaly completed blue Cobra was out the front and looked excellent, no hassles with the workmanship in his own car. I walked in and got about 15 seconds of his time and attitude to go with it. Maybe you have to know the man personally and maybe I got him on a bad day but lets say I bought my Cobra from elswhere.

I have found Kenne Bell positive displacement superchargers, Wipple site here in us is another matter. Do you down under have a different Wipple source and what is their email address? thanks

Shelby Man,

I do not think anyone is suggesting that the Python is not a good car; we are all enthusiasts here and buy different kits for different reasons.

Having said that-

Do you really think any of us are jelous of another manufacturer?

Do you really think the Python is not a kit car?....

Classic Revival certainly look good. They are set up for the LS1 and have a number of kits out there already. Perhaps Aussie Mike site/gallery would be worth a visit. Mike will talk to you and is a great help..:3DSMILE:

George at Python certainly knows his stuff and has built some good race cars that have stood the test of time.

YOU ARE GETTING A COMMISSION:eek:

venom0427 12-13-2006 03:24 AM

I’ve been building kits for around 15 years, (RC 62kits, lorrie60, RMC 300, DRB 350, and Harrison 60 etc, etc. say 2500 Aust wide it wouldn’t put a big didn’t into a population of 25 million) And after a while you do get a bit sick and tired of hearing the same old sh1t. I have $20k, now build me a car, or I’ve seen it at this guys place (LETS COPY IT), George dose have a bit of an attitude but he is the longest builder of cobras in Australia.

He makes more money from the workshop, or repairing or selling a hog than putting up with the dribble that comes out of the drooling folk that drag across his factory floor.

We are all passionate about our cars, we build, breath, and sh1t them. After a while it’s a bit hard to keep the smile up??

Had a few beers, good stuff to read thou.
