Looks like a great way to keep some heat in and rob yourself of a few hp.

Leave the covers off and be proud to run an LS1 :p :p

Beejay 12-08-2006 12:59 AM

Thanks for the post, pretty cool.

I am with Plums though, wear the darkside badge with pride!

Cheers,

Ben

And hit the owner with an ugly stick for going down the dark path in the first place!!

Cracker 12-08-2006 04:46 AM

And the best part is it comes with a CD that makes true Lambo sounds to really confuse and fool onlookers!!!**)

Stupid. After all that work on the car just by a REAL car.

Gav 12-10-2006 01:17 AM

To be honest I think I would prefer the loss of HP and Lambo looks to putting a ford in my Cobra :D :D

NASSTY 12-10-2006 01:34 AM

Do they make a windsor engine cover as well? :)

They even made provision for 2 fake exhaust pipes on either side

Rebel1 12-10-2006 04:16 AM

I'm speechless  ...... and I bet the Lambo fellas are insulted :p

Gav 12-10-2006 11:46 PM

Speechless?
That would be a first. :D

faux V12

For all the expense and trouble of trying to make GEN III engine look like a
12 cylinder, you might as well get a real V12 to put in your Lambo replica.
Jag, BMW, and Mercedes V12's aren't that hard to find, albeit at a price
and the sound will be right.

Hehehehe..I know Gav, it doesn't happen often :o .

I can understand why some-one would want to camouflage one of those ch ... che .... ahmmm LS1 thingys, but if ya go to all that trouble why not go the whole hog and also improve the looks.

Like ... make it look like a ford ;) :JEKYLHYDE

Several reasons I would imagine.

The Gen III is lighter, more reliable, has higher potential Hp per dollar and meets emmissions standards!

Thought about bringing in a Toyota V12 when building the last Cobra. Would have been really cool. I think it would work out to the same price as what Gen III's go for here now. We went elcheapo and used Toyota 1UZFE instead.

Ben

Exactly why it's a popular choice at the moment.

NASSTY 12-13-2006 04:19 PM

I didn't know Toyota made a V12

That would've been cool.

Craig, what car used the V12 and do you know any specs off hand?

Thanks

NASSTY 12-13-2006 11:17 PM

Gotta luv google

I found this

Only ever produced in the Toyota Century

"The 2nd Gen has the 5.0L 1GZ-FE V12, DOHC, 4V/cyl with VVT, and as per that Japanese limit, only makes ~280hp. Torque is 355lb-ft."

So that 206kw

I'm guessing just the 4.0 V8 there's plenty of potential :)
