Victorian All Ford Day Cancelled
Sorry to bring sad news for Christmas, but the local rag reports the All Ford Day scheduled for February 18, 2007 has been cancelled and not due to return until February 17, 2008.
The reason is due to the drought conditions and Stage 4 water restrictions in the Geelong area and Deakin University has reluctantly closed all its sporting grounds to all events. Organisers feel holding the event on a dry dusty venue is unfair to show car owners who have put so much effort into the presentation of their vehicles. What a bummer I was looking forward to that, haven't missed one since I got the Cobra.
What's wrong with them I've been to plenty of dusty shows. Picnic at Hanging Rock is always dusty and they get over 2000 cars there. Cheers, Bryan |

Is it possibale to have our own cobra day in place of all Ford Day like the display at Caulfield about three years ago,maybe getting some ex and current Ford race drivers

You know alot of racing people,,we can catch up this week to see if it is possible.The Healey club had theirs at Como Park not long ago (opp Royal South Yarra Tennis Club) BUT we might find things the same rergarding the water restrictions. Yes we have had a "Weekend at Bernie's' in Mt. Gambier a few years back now - it was a success. May have to do the weekend again..:confused: Happy New Year to you and Nancy also. |
