Hello All,

Just a quick line to say hello. I thought I would now join the Forums seeing that I received my "Statement of Requirements" letter from the SA Dept. of Transport yesterday! I now have the go ahead to build... Yay! My chassis and body are supplied by Paul Woolley of A.C. Adelaide Cobras.

I hope post the progress as it happens :-)

Regards, Roy

Thanks Guys,

I am looking forward to the journey and I will be the first to ask for advice. I would be a fool not to listen and learn from those who have gone before me :-)

Beejay, "what do I have planned"? Well, I would like to keep the build as simple as possible and abide by the ADR's - at least until I have the car registered. I am a sucker for the traditional look and intend to run with a 351w and top-loader. Jag front/rear with 15x8f 15x10r Halibrand replicas from Oz Wheels.

Snake, there is a lot of "history" between Evans and Woolly and I trust that getting the chassis and body form the one source may make the difference. I only live 15 mins away from Paul and he seems to be happy to help with the initial body fit etc. :-)

Thanks again Guys and I will post images when I have made some initial progess.

Cheers... Roy

Roy just don't let Mr. W or Mr. E convince you to cut guards off or run those funny gear stick knobs..

Roy
Welcome to the site, I'm still procrastinating about which kit etc, etc, etc, so I haven't much to say. Beware of the other guys on the site, it only took one question to get me addicted to the site and the valuable info passed on by the various posters. I now NEED to check the threads every morning and night. I think I am going to need therapy shortly not to mention a possible new wife. The common verse I get now is "Just go and buy the bloody thing".
Good luck with the build.

Rebel1 03-03-2007 04:15 AM

Welcome Roy, good to hear your planning ford power. Dunno how ya gonna get the 351W approved but hope it all goes well for you.

Don't be afraid to ask questions.

RoyTheBoy 03-03-2007 04:23 AM

Thanks Rebel, The Dept of Transport here in SA has stated in my "Statement of Requirements" document that a 1988-92 5.8ltr Ford Bronco naturally aspirated, unleaded engine will be acceptable. Obviously I have to make sure that it passes the emmisions test. :-)

Hey Bernie, Mr E is no longer around - went out of business I heard. PW seems to be keen to help get the car registered. hasn't mentioned any thing about guards or funny gear sticks knobs... yet!

Regards, Roy

Hey Hodson,
You have been told to just go and buy the thing,
What the hell is wrong with you!!!!!

My wife refers to my workshop as the 'black hole', visitors arrive to our place but seem to be drawn mysteriously to the shed. I can't help it if people find the car more interesting than 'home beautiful' magazine.

Mando 03-04-2007 10:02 PM

Hi Roy,
good luck with the build.

Regards.

RoyTheBoy 03-05-2007 01:25 PM

Thanks Mando.
