I've had to stick up for em, insulate them from the snide remarks from ford fellas, and generally look after em... so I decided to join em. ;) :JEKYLHYDE There's a reason I'm called the rebel ya know. :) |
Holy ****!
I thought you may have gotten Sony to send you a 64 meter plasma instead of a Bravia but this takes the cake. Now I have seen it all! :JEKYLHYDE :JEKYLHYDE At least now I have an excuse when the girlfriend (1st wife has lost popularity) asks 'Why do I need more go fast bits'. Actually we all should have realised he would do this. Look at his Nic. |

There are some things even a rat won't do!! Just means you're that much closer to having it running. Congrats.... |
Hogster - now you raise a valid point
In Victoria we have Aussie Mike - building a masterpiece, but when will it be on the road?? In QLD we have Les - Another masterpiece, except for that lightweight donk:p Les, when is that body going to see the sun? On another note.........Blair, what happened to our cruise in the suburbs? Is the Blairmachine back home or still enjoying the views at Yatala? |

Blair '07' is sitting in a suburb in Brisbane (I don't want to disclose this information otherwise certain people might decide to swap their alluminium beer cans for an alluminium masterpiece) close to you (not at Yatala) and is awaiting registration. I did some quick cruises around a certain block and I thought you may have heard me. However in a few weeks when it is registered I will come over and we can compare how good our FORDS are. All joking aside, at least Rebel1 is not biased or swayed by a brand name! He dished a fair amount of rubbish out (in good humour of course) to the holden boys and then had the balls to buy one! As for me, I doubt I could ever buy a holden purely because I am a 'Ford Boy'. That and Fords are better. |

Just spent a few hours reading about this L76 on the ls1.com.au forums and it sounds like a great option over the awesome but more expensive LS2. Basically you've got euro 3 compliance, nearly 270kw, over 500nm and with a bigger cam you can make LS2 power easily. Out of the box it has mounds of low down torque - eg, very streetable.
Any idea on stock levels or whether these deals are limited time only? |
I reckon you'll be able to get them for a while yet and the price will only get better with time.... A damn fine choice I reckon!!!
|
Sambo....I don't know how many are available, but although the deal may improve I wasn't willing to take the risk.
What I do know is that there are a number of folks on this very forum whose all up cost of a similiar but second hand engine is greater than I've paid and this deal is all new. The engine in crate form is about $6500.00 GST paid. I wanted all the bits and pieces to turn the engine into a running engine. ie. Alternator, ecu, loom, starter , O2 sensors, FBW accelerator, etc etc. They will even remove the code on the ecu that you dont need or prevents the engine from being started. That ended up about $10,000. Great price when a crate LS2 costs about $9000.00 without all the bits. For some-one willing to scrounge the bits and pieces then maybe they could save more. Other folks on here would have a better idea as to the potential of the engine but as far as I'm concerned it's essentially an LS2 bottom end with possibly better heads and intake, marginally lower compression, and a smaller cam. Given most of us swop cams, fit better headers, change tune etc, then I figure I can make this thing, at least as good as an LS2. cheers |
Sorry, I told a fib ... I heard there were 30 of them.
Don't know if that is the end or not. |
Aluminium Poisoning
I'll bet ya used aluminium sausepans through the 70's or drank beer fom aluminium cans, ya lucky ya didn't get alziemers, just Chebbie disease.:JEKYLHYDE

Must be what caused me to buy this thing. ;) |
