Nuh Phil, the ford gods are unhappy with me for some reason. :o

Definitely this year for my car but I'm in the hands of others. My painter is super booked out....and my gearbox (tremec 600) is a ford unit and is going to Mal Wood to be GMized, so a lot of the delay is in the hands of others.

The rest is pretty much done thank gawd.

Oi, Uncle Les!

I thought you said you saved thousands and thousands when you converted to the darkside?

Now you need gearbox mods, gonna put in a bigger cam, valve springs, ECU programming etc etc. %/

You could've just stayed true and built that windsor 396 stroker and got more HP out of the box!!!**) :D

:)

Yeah Al, I know, but I was fighting the Qld Dept of transport about the windsor..

Fact is, my car was inspected years ago to be registered and passed. But I never did register it. ( long story) It was fitted with a 302 windsor, carby, cats, etc. I have a VIN number.

Two years ago I wrote to the department to confirm that they would recognise that fact and would they register the car with the same engine. I received an affirmative answer.

The department now say that my file has been "misplaced" and that for me to register I have to comply with the latest regulations...ie. injected engine.

I'm tired of fighting with them. It has been suggested I take some form of legal action and that I'd win as I have all the documentation, but frankly, that'll cost be the same as the L76.

Had they allowed the registration with the 302 windsor then that engine would have changed to the 351 stroker after rego as I have a new 351 block with no engine number. (truck service block).

If I had an inexpensive choice, the windsor would be used.

Typical bluddy government department runaround.

All sold... bwahahahaha! What they mean is dealers have been given their allocation and sold a fair few, but if you want one, you might have to look beyond your local dealer.
