Cobra Car Covers

Who has a car cover for their cobra?
What considerations have been given to waterproof or not!
Soft linings to protect paintwork!
Standard fits or custom made!
Levels of UV protection!
Stress on Windshield etc!

What are the experiences of those who have already dealt with these issues

I would appreciate advice prior to purchase

Cheers SNKBTE:)

G'Day I've just bought a cover for my new "everyday " car. It's made by Kenco out of Dupont Tyvec. It feels like tissue paper, is very light and very UV resistant. Waterproof it's not..it gets pretty soggy but dries out well.
It's machine washable, in a laundromat machine..it's got to be big.
I had to buy a large model because the car is very wide so it didn't fit very well length ways. I emailed Kenco and they sent me extra straps and fittings for free.
UV protection...the car stays relatively cool all day in the sun.
Stress on the windscreen...most of the time the cover is floating about over the car only held in place by the straps and the elastic seam. I use this cover every day at home and at work, it's holding up very well.

All depends on your situation. I bought a $30 target cover, corvette sized. Works fine for me.

SNKBTE,

As I don't have a roof / softop I wanted a car cover that could repell the heaviest storm (which we sometimes get up here - not as often these days) without scratching the car.

I decided to import one from the States. See link http://www.tprmag.com/misc/calcarcover/material.html and bought the stormweave blue cover.

It is absolutely brilliant. Repells the water 100% without the car sweating and does not scratch the car. The material looks paper thin but is as strong as.

I think I bought a medium sized one and it fits the car well - no stress on the windscreen.

The covers goes on in seconds and rolls up into a bag for storage in the boot.

Not cheap, but highly recommended.
