A fast car

Good brakes actually. Winton seems to be very hard on brakes.

Hopefully Jason or Tony will chime in with the current requirements.

stuartt,

Extinguisher needs to be in date.

Seat belts....preferably full harness but not mandatory.

Roll bar.....a real one gives you a better feeling.

Dual springs on throttle body.

Catch can for radiator.

Change oil and filter before and after the weekend.

Bleed the brakes.

Make sure no slack in front suspension or bearings.

Track pads advantageous if you intend getting serious.

Sense of humour

Be prepared for the best couple of days with a great bunch of people.

Have fun.

Regards,

Phil:)

Driving Lessons

Stuartt,

Have you mastered getting off the line without wheel spin or kangarooing yet:LOL:

I should let people know the story, I let Stuartt drive my car
at the recent Alpine Run, he gave a good rendition of Victor Bray and a Kangaroo all at the same time.

Dont forget your drinking shoes as well....

thanks Stiffy have you had a chance to get that rough idle tuned out yet.

Hi Stu,

Shelby Fest is all about getting on the track and having fun.
You will be grouped with like minded drivers with similar lap times.

If you want to get serious and go hard all day, make sure you and the car are up for it (brakes, tyres, suspension ect.)

A lot of guys will just be out there learning the track and taking it easy.

Some (like myself) will fall somewhere in between.

We are not strict on scrutineering. Car must be in road worthy condition with an extinguisher. roll bar is not mandatory.

Before a track day I always take the car to a mechanic to put it on the hoist and check all the nuts and bolts.

Need some air.

HI Jason,
If I remember correctly Winton do not have an air compressor that is available for use.

Are there any locals that would concider bringing one along? It doesnt have to be anything serious just something to put a few pounds in if nessesary.

Philm

I will be bringing my compressor amongst plenty of other spares, hopefully I will get a pit garage next door to the Mizzi's. You are more than welcome to use all tools & accessories you like.

Good work Leeroy,

I've just re-worked the supp regs. Anyone who did a quicker time than Tony or myself last year, will run 65psi in the fronts and 5psi in the backs.

and yes I know......

that covers 95% of the field:D

Philm 03-30-2007 01:42 AM

Excellent

Leeroy,
Excellent, looking forward to seeing you all again.

getting excited, now all I need to do is pull it apart and quikly put it back together again.:D

This is killing me...

Reading all the comments about getting ready for Shelbyfest, and not being able to join in this year.

I'd love to be giving Mr. Mizzi a run for his money.....I'll watch with interest.
Good luck to everyone who takes part, and I REALLY wish I could be there.

Regards,

Warren.
