Ideas on engine build
Hi Guys,
Just picked up a 69 windsor 351 block and was after some input into building an ideal race/street motor to run on dedicated LPG. Ideas on on combinations from crank/heads/cam setups or even stroker kits to the best gas induction systems available in Oz that may be suitable.I know the brains trust on this forum has never failed us yet so any ideas would be appreciated.Anything from a complete mongrel tyre shredding beast to a nice cruiser come weekend racer setup would be considered. So let the imagination run wild and see what we come up with. The basic Impco system I have on the 5 litre HO is great but we all look for something bigger and better and just to get in early,no I won't change to a LS1 or 2 or 7 even though I am still getting over Aussie Mike tearing my eardrums out as he passed me at Winton a few weeks ago. That Cobra is a credit to you mate. Cheers Brett |
I like It :3DSMILE:
F O R D Your the man !!!!!!!!!! |
Just stick an LSX in there... just kidding :p :D
I have heard good things about the gas injection systems. Computer controlled - like EFI for gas - and very flexible..... must be better than gas forklift carbies!!! What ever you do, be sure to keep your compression ratio high to gain maximum benefit from the gas.... |
Just one word "BOSS"
Stick a set of CHI aluminium 3V Cleveland heads on it and a Tarantula style manifold they make. Cheers |
Go the 418 stroker
Hi Brett,
Engine Masters ran an article fairly recently on comp builds with limitations on block size. The small block comp was dominated by stroked windsors running CHI heads. Crazy horsepower and torque figures. http://www.popularhotrodding.com/eng...lenge_results/ Impco or Gas research (the debate goes on). I'll have my twin impco setup organised fairly soon so I'll post some photos when it all arrives. Regards Hogster |
