Headers

G'day Folks,
I want to build a pair of headers for my 351 Cleveland to fit in my RMC. Does anyone know of a supplier of stainless steel pipe curves and such in NSW ? I approach local exhaust mobs and they say "I can build it for you" and when I say I want to do it myself. They say the pipework is very expensive but I'll get it for you if you like... for a price. Does any one know of a reasonable supplier ?
Smithy.

Why not do your headers in mild and the sidepipes in stainless?
Even the whole lot in mild and have them coated?
With the amount of k's they will do stainless is dear, and tig welding them up is a fair bit harder than mild.

Practicality wise(heat, ease of fitment, cost) ceramic coated mild steel headers would be the best option.

Any reason for going stainless? If not polished, they will go a very rusty brown colour anyway once they are heat cycled enough. And if they are polished, you will have to fit them with cotton gloves making sure there are no contaminents on the surface as once hot those surface contaminents will be etched into the stainless. I just loved the look of polished stainless headers. :D

Most people would guess that anyway.

Gav, the side pipes are already built out of mild. will be HPC coated. I've got a tig and so far find welding stainless is OK.
400TT, I was looking at stainless to get the brown "business" patina. But on both of your advice I think I'll go mild steel

I have just purchased a box full of bends from Di-Filippo.
I allready had the header flange and the side pipe flanges, They billed me $300 inc gst for the mandrel bends.
All my bends are in 1 7/8th (after the lengthy discussions on this site)
