Speed On Tweed!
Hi boys...just got back from SOT! Was quite good but Ida rather been driving than watching... Saw a nice yellow original GT40 and Digby Cook's JAG was racing (For QLD Members)... No cobras... There was one parked on the road down from the pub on Saturday... peakcock green Robnell with Vic rego HSSSS if anyone knows whose that is......
I had heard that is was hard to get in to race at this event BUT I saw a stock as a rock Datsun 180B racing so surely we could get a run at this event next year... Heaps of older classic vehicles and 2 x Nice A9X's but for car quality DIGBY's Jag was a beautiful machine.... Sorry no good pics.... Later SpookyPT |

A few years back there was quite a strong contingent of Cobra's taking part. Maybe its a case of once you're in you are in and when you're not its pretty difficult to get back in. I think this event has now become quite a drawcard for Australiana motorsport such that the entry card simply gets more and more of a who's who. All except for the Datto:cool: :rolleyes: %/ |

That "HSSSSS" Robnell is actually one that belongs to our Queensland member , Royce Noble. Unfortunately Royce doesn't get to drive the car these days as he has severely failing eyesight, but still enjoys the beast from the passenger side......he's a cool guy! http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...e_2005_005.jpg Attached picture is of Ant Meesen taking it for a run, with Royce happy in the passenger seat, on our way up to the Sunshine Coast to visit the Bowden's car collection a while back. We had 126 club members attend that day , and it was awesome. That was a fantastic memory..... I was the lead car, and I had about 35 Cobras , and plenty of other club cars behind me, filling up three lanes wide on the Motorway, early in the morning, and the sound will never be forgotten....like a bloody jet......brilliant. Some days are diamonds! Missed ya yesterday at Queensland Raceway.....Quick times , and all of us had our new tyres scrubbed in , and ready for the Nationals. Not many sleeps now! Regards, Warren. |
