Welcome to Newcastle NSW
324000 people...nice place, no more smoke and muck. In the old days (60s) it was the hot rod centre of Aus. Today... be careful with what you drive. Over 4 Days the local constabulary had a fun time.....
827 defects on 109 cars...doof doof types. 30 drink drive charges. 6Unlicensed. 44 unregistered. 26 assorted traffic offences. Man what a place to drive a modified vehicle. Does your town have a "friendly car " atmosphere ??? |
Gold Coast
Beautiful place to cruise around, especially in a Cobra. You have some beautiful beaches to cruise past and some great mountain roads in the hinterland. The weather is great, you can virtually drive your Cobra all year round here.
Gold Coast is Cobra and GT40 central, lots of cars here, lots of manufacturers/parts suppliers. QLD Cobra Club also meets on the Gold Coast. Also most weekends there is plenty of Cobra & GT40 racing action within a few hours drive as well. Gold Coast has a big problem with hoons though. So we have a lot of roadside inspections and there always seems to be some sort of blitz on modified vehicles. So in the back of your mind, you are wondering if you will be unlucky enough to be pulled up and then unlucky enough to get fined. They are mainly targetting young drivers and modified bombs, but lots of other nicely modified vehicles get caught in the net as well. |
