FYI All,

Here are the pages from the Jaguar Manual for adjusting the handbrake.

My theory is that the handbrake levers that we use simply do not have enough travel to pull the handbrake pads tight. The full size images of these pages are in my gallery.

I will be using the hand brake from an xjs which has 55mm of cable pull in total. The cable just goes straight to the calipers.

To me it looks like that bell crank on the xj6/12 converts a long pull to a short pull you would just get more leverage.
