studs

Does any one know the size and thread of Jag XJ6 series 2 and Au Ford studs?

Aussie Mike 10-07-2007 02:19 AM

Both the Ford rear and the jag front run standard 1/2" studs with the same thread pitch.

Cheers

Are They imperial?

Aussie Mike 10-07-2007 02:38 AM

Yes, they are 1/2" so I guess they are imperial. Ford have kept the same 4 1/2" PCD and 1/2" stud size since the XR Falcon I believe. Very early Falcons XP XM etc ran a different PCD.

Jag have also kept the same 4 3/4" PCD and stud size for ever as well. Holden used to run this spec as well till they switched to a metric equivalent (120mm PCD) on the Commodore.

I think the Jag is 4 3/4 inch, which is 120.65mm...

Aussie Mike 10-07-2007 04:20 AM

Sorry, yes you're right Bobby. I got my maths wrong. Jag is 4.75" and Ford is 4.5" PCD. Holden knocked off the 0.65mm to make it 120mm when the Commodore came out.

I've edited my original post.

Cheers
