run n gun, straight track. WSCB (which i might swing this year) is more social, less track?? LCS (which i did in '05?) is more social less track, too.
although both have added track days on the first, or intro. day. very good! :D run n gun is the best for casual, relaxed, almost exclusive track time with a wee bit of social. ;) (trackside margarita machine run by a gas engine) and great great fun with a relatively small group of cobraphiles. WSCB 200 people?? i don't know! LCS 500+ people?? don't know that either! run n gun- 60+?? all the events are great. I would love to make road america some day, too. reptile roundup, run to the lakes or something like that.... do 'em all! :D :D :D hey Paul- which menacing model pic??? :JEKYLHYDE :D |

Hi all,
The Run N Gun is a great event with even better people. I also enjoyed the London Ohio event - we drove Route 66 across the USA and back in the GT40. The Shelby American Auto Club event is also good. Got to met Shelby there...Fontana Speedway in California http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...dad_shelby.jpg Just part of a relaxing drive across America...%/ http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...05DSC00728.JPG ..All going well I'll be there in '08 |
Bernie, you folks figure out which one you want to do as a group or individually, and I'm sure that there are enough friends over here to make sure you have a good time at any of the above mentioned events. H*ll, if you come to Run 'N Gun, we'll even have Cliff fire up his grill for some "barbie" for you guys. He's also talked about "dancing girls", and maybe some day he'll actually bring some to the track for us. ;)

Dave, No mention of a bike ride.? The 'Run N Gun' after event part with George and the inflatable pumpkin was a highlight. Not to mention the 'moonshine'. I would recommend the Run N Gun. The London Ohio drags down the main street would be a close second with the Police Chief standing an applauding the biggest burnout..:3DSMILE:... Dave did you attend the 'Run N Gun' this year?. I was meant to attend with Hershal in the GT40 but pulled out at the last minute due to things happening here. |
Bernie,
We gave away and sold ALL of the 230 T-shirsts we had at Run and Gun but we are ordering 171 more and yours will be one of them. Sorry it is going to take a little longer than expected. In the meantime please PM me your mailing address so I can get it to you when it comes in. Clois |
oh this brings back memories.
When Craig posted on the forum he wanted to get group to go over and sung his praises to get numbers and ended up being the only one to go on the trip . It was the 3 weeks of my life though the first week was head down bum up working on Hershe's gt40 to get it going for the trip. Close but no cigar.
one good thing is Craig's sister is a travel agent and a good one as well we had no problems with any of our travel arrangements both times i have booked thru her its been perfect. And the best prices by far. If you haven't been to the states to a cobra event you have to do it once they are the best people friendly and helpfull just like us Aussies . You will talk about it for years after. Now about getting a drive i dont crash cars but do try to get the most out of them. Regards ozvenom.:D |
Well what sort of dollars can Craig's sister manage for such a trip??

Hey Mates,
If you will bless us with your presence I will see to it that you get on the track either as a driver (controlled speed) or as a passenger. I will try and post some pictures later this week if I can figure out how my old camera works with my new computer. The damn thing works different than it did with my old system. Clois Harlan |
Yes, I did, Bernie. My times dropped each day which was all I was looking to do as a newbie to this. I did have one "interesting" incident though right after a "warm up" lap:
http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f8..._100_0273C.jpg Hersh was the first person I met when I got in at the hotel. He had some issues with the car, but got her running again and did very well. He's one H*lluva good guy. It was a blast, and many of your buds here all spoke about how we wished you could have made again it this year. Apparently my Rum and Cokes made a hit with those who were brave enough to try them. Hope to see you and some of your Aussie buds at R&G and/or LCS next year. Regarding the old Raleigh Pro, until I lose some weight it would probably have a hernia if I got onto it these days. |
