I certainly found out at that 2006 Shelbyfest, that what sounds like a stone in the brakes, may well be metal against metal....DUH..... and that just 'cause the brakes were fine BEFORE the practice day, that you should check how much is still there AFTER the practice day, and BEFORE you go all out on the competition day. I learned how to drift that week....no choice! |

Those pictures should serve as a warning to all that if we intend on going that little bit quicker ..perhaps a couple of hours preventative maintenance wouldn't go astray... Scrutineering can only check visually so much the rest is left up to us.... It also leads us to that question about Insurance at these events and the reasons they baulk at coverage on our cars... Where does the scrutineers liability stop he allowed the car on the track with pads and uni's(obviously not in there degraded condition:eek: ) that may not have been acceptable to a more heavily scrutinised event ... Food for thought for future events EVERYONE!!!!:D |

I couldn't believe a full set of pads had "disappeared". Don't worry I check the pads again and again, as well as everything else before any track runs now. That was my error, and the scrutineer can't be checking everything...lesson learned. I agree though.....there are a great number of Cobra drivers that get a real wakeup call when they take their cars out on a racetrack....Things break/bend/melt/twist in a matter of 15 minutes on a track, when they would be fine with "normal" street use. I know what you mean. We have another Track Hire day at Morgan Park Raceway coming up at the end of this month. It will soon be easy to tell which owners put in a bit of time on their cars, and which ones think that the cars go forever without checking on them from time to time. Regards, Warren. |

Hey Wazza you running the holden drums on the back as well,
I did a Hopper conversion on the front and back of mine was the best thing makes a huge difference ! |

INDY this week....DRIVERS PARADES around the track just before the V8 Supercars and Indy cars,with 12 Cobras both days....keep a look out for us. I hope those gorgeous Indy Girls don't come on to me again....I feel like a piece if meat the way they look at me.... DREAMIN!!!! |

Down at the Indy on Friday doing the unofficial Cobra Parade consisting of.............. Drive down in the Cobra, run parallel to the track then park up in a secret location in Broadbeach. Then................... Grandstand afternoon on the p#$$ and then sobering up before returning Saturday to watch the V8's in the best seat (in front of the Plasma). |
