Road Manners

Had an incident coming back from the City today in the Cobra............

Had some weirdo passing me as I turned off shouting "Nice car, pity you can't drive it!!" At least he liked the car!

Carried on thinking there's always a dickhead about only to find I came across him again. I had avoided some roadworks only to find him passing me laughing his head off. Now I'm thinking Ice:eek:

You wouldn't believe it 10 minutes later I found him parked up facing me and hurling more abuse my way. This time I didn't catch it as I floored it rather than hear the cockhead mothing off.

I must say such abuse is very rare, but would like to hear if anyone else has come across similar incidents when out in the Cobra.

It may be I am a crap driver, but as I was not even trying to do anything I hardly think so - maybe I should have!

It may be my abuser was on some type of drugs and was looking for trouble from whoever.

Who knows.

It's rare.
Most of us get the "You lucky bast***" look!

There aren't too many of this dicks around, almost everyone we meet when we're out in our cool cars , just wish they were driving one.

I'd say there'd be quite a large number of Cobra owners around that just saw one in the traffic one day, and said THAT"S what I want !!

Pete, don't worry , your beautiful car would have inspired plenty of guys to get organized and get themselves a Cobra.

Now...as far as this chap not liking you for some reason????.....maybe he's met you before !!!

Couldn't help myself....just jokes....you know I LUV YA REALLY!!!

Fond Regards,

Warren

When I was going through the rego dance (in NSW) I was constantly challenged for a race. One yob in a HQ ute said why would I drive such an ugly car (I admit it was pretty rough) and when I pointed out that it wasn't finished or registered he looked a bit confused. When I left that set of traffic lights, leaving him in a fog of rubber smoke I think his attitude had been altered. I'm still not finished but when it is I hope I meed that yob again.

Nah, never experienced it, it must just be you Peter. :D

Just a loser, eventually all of us meet types like that when driving our Cobras.

Sometimes I actually prefer driving something like a GT40. You just get a lot more privacy, people just get to stare at the car, not the car and you sitting out in the open in it.

Criticism from anyone lower in stature, money and/or ability than you, must be considered as a complement.

Of course, a well placed middle finger salute indicating that you are #1 also helps in some instances.

Thankfully, I've not had such an occasion in 12,000 miles of Cobra driving.

Dont worry Pete I think that guy lives in Alex hills or the North side somewhere, guys from those areas tend to lose it sometimes.
Seriously once every couple of months I would run into a bit of road rage in my normal car (wish I was a plain clothes cop sometimes).
Anyway it was your car at the Cleveland show that got me into building a Cobra (you sure it wasnt my wife giving you an ear full).
Cheers
Bruce

Nuh.....this was just a classic example of the predatory process of the species resident on the Southside of Brissy.

1. The aggressor recognized Pete to be of English Birth.
2. The aggressor was a rugby follower.

Simple really. :)

hey,littlecobra 10-13-2007 06:53 AM

sounds like the guy was looking for a street race.
Always take the 'high road' so to speak; sure don't wanna be dead because of a few rude, offensive remarks.
You read about road rage, street racing killing people everyday.
I'm sure many start with baiting/provocation of this type.

keep the sunny side up! :D

All types

Some people are just dickheads.

At the drags this week, while sitting in line in the lane with all my family arround, a Guy walked passed and said, " these things do nothing for me, I would not have one if it was given to me"

The guy is entitled to his opinion but I was not asking for one.

I wonder what would of happened if I handed him the keys and said here take it?

Phil

Les,

I think he must have been French:D :D

Thanks for the compliment Bruce!

Warren - as perseptive as always - Should try it on the ladies%/  %/

Phil - Exactly the same issue - jealousy gets you nowhere

Heylittle Cobra - No racing involved. He was in an 80's Mazda rot box.

Ah well, back out later today spoiling some jealous lout's day.

Go England, go Jonny, nice to beat the French on their own ground - Waterloo was the last time!
