LS1 Engine fault light connection
Hello LS1 brains trust.
I am finishing off the dash wiring and want to know what wire/output to connect the Engine fault light to and the Not charging light to. Thanks Bruce |
aussie ls1s do not have a warning light
it all goes thru to the dash find a usa ls1 wiring diag as they have a mil light but then u have to retune the ls1 ecu to get the light to work i have gone thru stuff with people i deal with and think i have figured it out but ask your tuner first as he has to turn it on in your ecu otherwise it wont work its not a simple just plug in a wire and go for it i could set yr ecu up but it would cost you 300 bucks ls1 fly by wire alternator wires go straight to ecu u have to not connect these to ecu and find out what the wires do then connect them to i think battery and charge light in dash |
Got them. I have found the charge indicator signal wire and as mine is a US engine/pcm I also have a working MIL connector out of the PCM (I didnt know what MIL stood for)

The truth
An easier solution is to hard wire the engine warning light so it is on permanently:D :D

im about to buy a new diagnostic scanner
you could always buy one of these for 7 g and mount it in the dash first thing is if you are goin to run a mil light then make sure yr tuner sets it up ok u have to go into the tuning software and make sure u turn afew things off so the light doesnt come on for wrong reasons like aircon or stuff thats not goin to be fitted another thing i would not mind doin one day but no cobra owner has gone this way y not run the ls1 dash i recently wire up an ls1 in a holden eh show car and customer wanted matching dash then afew weeks later i bought for the owner a red monaro dash his friend mounted it and i wired it up it looks sooooo hot the eh is hot red and the dash has full red dials i think someone who wants a modern futuristic looking cobra should do this if i had one this is the way i would go but for now my future dream car is a 61 corvette with a new holden efi engine and fully electronic matching dash |

My car is basically a Commodore (in a lightweight body) with all functions such as cruise control, trip computer, auto headlights etc. etc. All standard fuse blocks and relays too... if down the track I ever sell this car, the owner can just take it into Holden for servicing. :p This made setting up things such as lights, indicators, brake lights an absolute breeze..... I just need to get my alloy trim for the gauge cluster cut on the water-jet machine (thanks to Cobber for the CAD work), then clearcoat the Carbon fibre so it looks cool!!! |
