Weber style fuel injection - Brissy??
Anyone know the name of a business in Brisbane that does the Weber lookalike fuel injection systems, with the trumpets.

Speak to Corey at Katicore Motorsport. I've bought injection rail extrusion from him before and he has some very nice 8TB setups available.

Haltec make them they used to be $645 each. Injection Perfection used to make up a complete kit for most engines.. You could get both IDA and IDF 44 and 48 mm throttle bodies. |

They look tough but what can you expect from them in terms of increased power. If your motor has a cam and head job done what difference would these stacks make over say a larger throttle body? Anyone know

The main advantage of the 8x T/B setup is that you can run a much bigger cam and still maintain drivability. having individual throttles and trumpets means the reversion pulse from one intake doesn't upset the flow in the adjacent intake ports. The bigger the cam, the more overlap and valve lift the bigger that pulse coming out of each intake tract.
The other advantage is that by varying the length of the intake trumpets you have a degree of manifold tuning to match the cam you have chosen. Much like the importance of primary tube length in a set of headers, the length of each intake tract has an impact on how the motor will perform. A good example of this intake tuning is the Crower trumpet injection setups they used to run on BB Chev powered CAN-AM cars. They ran staggered length trumpets to flatten out the torque curve. Air flow problems Mike
Aussie Mike Mike I was under the thought that there was an air flow problem to the back throtte bodies. The hieghts where diffent sizes to break up the air flow. In the air inlet on a GT-40 there was no problem but in a cobra, there was a flow issue with the back carbs because of no air box. The back cylinder on each side runs leaner than the front 6. I was told this by a weber pro racer. Rick L.

Air flow wasn't a problem with the Can Am cars with their trumpets out in the breeze. From what I've read it was just for improved torque spread with the Crower mechanical injection setups.
It may be a different situation with webbers installed under a bonnet. Carbs rely on airflow through a venturi to pull the fuel vapour through into the airstream. Restricting that airflow could have a real impact on metering. These mechanical injection setups run individual jets for each cylinder to trim them and the crank driven fuel pump combined with a valve tied to the throttle linkage to meter the flow of fuel to each cylinder. They are pretty agricultural and just supply X amount of fuel for a particular RPM and throttle position. Cheers |

No air filters Sambo, not on the Can Am cars anyway.
You can fit the foam sock that would normally be fitted to a weber carbie. Or you can make a larger air box that mounts over all the intakes. |
