Between The Rock and Wagga Wagga

The weekend of the 17/18th November I went to Temora in NSW for the last flying weekend of the year. Its about 550k's from Melbourne.
I decided to leave @ 6am on the Friday as the temperature was going to be in the mid to high 30's. All was going well, brekky in Euroa then lunch in Wagga. Well then it turned to crap,,,,,,, 4k's South of THE ROCK the left rear let go. I didn't feel it go (low profile) I could smell burning rubber and pulled over to find the tyre rooted... No problem I will call RACV Total Care..... Got the phone, NO SIGNAL (Optus) it was mid 30's no shade and 30000000000 million flies....  Just then a fellow traveller stopped and lent me his Telstra phone (1 hour later we had a tow truck on the way) the phone kept disconnecting and it seems that RACV and NRMA are not the same company.... They couldn't work out who's to organise things,,, 2 hours later the truck arrived. It took a while to load as I had to take off the quick jacks and it ripped the crap out of the fuel tank. We went to Wagga and drove around to find a 315x17x35 rear, guess what none around so it was a 245x17x40 to get me to Temora and home.
Besides the drama's (first flat in 24 years or driving) the weekend was terrific.

I was sure that your RACV got you reciprocal service in the other states...?

(did you see any abandoned cobra's with flat tyres out there? :) )

Mmmm the same weekend I was looking at your Daytona coupe and wondering when it was going to get finished..

You know that little red van I have... Well the same deal I get a flat tyre about 70k's from work. No problem I grab the spare out, the jack out and a fu*ken Japanese wheel brace that does not fit the wheel nuts. I utter dash, damn..

Phone is out of range not a car in site.

**) the first car stops and just happens to have a suitable brace. Whewww saved.

Good to hear you got back OK..**)
