SHELBYFEST08 - Information Thread

40+ rooms booked at the Gateway. Everyone will need to ring and book their individual rooms as per previous years.

SATURDAY - WINTON EVENT SCHEDULE.

Every lap completed by all drivers at Winton on Saturday will be recorded and used in calculations for each of the events listed below.

Event One: Quickest Individual Lap by class
The winner will record the lowest time lap time for the day in their class. The top 3 drivers in each class will all receive trophies.
(see supp regs for classes)

Event Two: Regularity trail – Most consistent lap times
The winner of the regularity trial will record the lowest regularity factor for the day, regardless of class, car specification or lap time.
The regularity factor is the difference between the driver’s fastest lap and the average of the driver’s fastest 15 laps.
The top 3 drivers will all receive trophies.

Event Three: DYO (Dial Your Own laptime)
The winner of the ‘Dial Your Own Laptime’ event, will record a time closest to their pre selected lap time with out breaking that time. Any driver completing a lap quicker than their nominated time will be moved to the bottom of the results table.
The top 3 drivers will all receive trophies.

Winton have made some changes to their insurance this year.
Every driver is now required to have a track licence or a CAMS level 2S (or higher) licence.

They can be purchased on the day for $50 and are valid for 12 months.

Winton is associated with Wakefield Park so anyone who raced at the Nats can use their Wakefield license.

Anyone wanting to go to the practice day on Friday will also need one.

I think the interstate entries are almost out numbering the Vic at the moment.

Should be another top event.
Get your entries in and don't forget to get those Rocker covers ready for the Shelby Rockercover derby.

But for the Rooms set aside for the Cobra Club there are none available at the Gateway for Saturday Night.

So - make sure you get them to check under the Cobra Club for available rooms, my first enquiry was met with a 'no room at the inn...'

Only 6 rooms available at the Gateway.
As LoBelly mentioned they are held under the Cobra Car Club.

My accomodation is all booked.

I've also booked my accomodation.

After I had booked mine, I was told there was only 1 room left.

I'm not sure if I can spare the extra time and cash to get the Cobra down there. Was thinking of just flying down.

Don't know of any other QLDers going. Maybe OzVenom(Scotty). My brother was seriously considering it, but it has worked out to be too difficult for him to fit it in.

I'm really looking forward to it, with or without vehicle.
