One of the best trucks

I was justing looking through some of the photos from a recent trip to the US.

This truck was one of the nicest rigs that I have ever seen.

%/

It had a full size bed up in the top with the small side windows that you can see. It had a couch behind the drivers seat. Opposite was a small bench/cupboard that had a fridge, micro wave oven. Next to it was a television and stereo unit.

It had a clothes robe next to that.

It was really a very high quality small caravan. One that you would be comfortable staying in.

All finished in quality wood and leather.

The bald headed, tattooed biker just looked out of his depth in this lavish comfort...:3DSMILE:

We have a number of trucks passing through Mt. Gambier and I always take a casual interest.

We even have one or two that have hundreds of small lights on them. They look great at night. Similiar to a circus or fair ground ride.

I know the drivers spend countless hours driving across Australia and they deserve the best comforts, but I'm amazed at the amount of trucks that I see that have fridges, barbeques, televisions and stereos better than household units.

They seemj to use every available space to put some neat item in...%/

Just thought that I would 'Post' it.....:D

Bernie,

That is a nice truck. I see several super ones as I live close to I-5 which is our main North/South freeway. Just South of Redding, 15 miles from me, there is a huge truck and rest area that I go to quite often. I talk to some of the drivers and they actually live in their trucks for months of the year. And one that has a super paint job on it I was really impressed with. It looked like a NORAD station when he showed me the inside and had a two person bed, TV, Satellite access to the Internet and anything else including a high end GPS system. Also had a Black box that was hidden and would record everything that he said just like a cock pit recorder in the air planes, just in case he was hijacked. Also had an automatic check in with whatever dispatch center he was hauling out of that told them every half hour where he was and it there was any trouble starting to develop on the truck. I was afraid to ask him how much it cost.

Ron,

I guess they cost more than the average house.

Yes they sure spend some time in them. I ran across a husband and wife team in Oklahoma who had been married for around two years and she had her licence and joined him on the road.

They had been together in the truck for all that time. Making serious money but..

Hell, I would kill my wife if we were in a 20' x 10' space for 24 hours a day..

Most of the time big tractors like Excavator's, Wheel Loaders and Bulldozers;) The biggest Excavator I have to move is a Cat 235 and weighs about 45 tons:eek:
