Maybe I am out of touch with the pricing but $90,000 seems like a $hit load of money for a DRB?
|
Its looks awfully similiar to a DRB built by Harrison in QLD. Same exterior & interior colours, same accessories, same wheels, similiar year etc.
Up here it ran around with HIS55 plates. The people than owned it sold it after only owning it for a few years. If it's the same Cobra it had quite a bit of money spent on it and was quite a nice build. Nothing really special in it though, imported early 1990's mustang HO 302w, rebuilt with normal go fast Edelbrock gear, converted back to carby. Running matching T5 gearbox. HQ front vented rotors. Shortened 9" with commodore solid rotors on rear. That's if it's the same Cobra... |
Mind like a steel trap, that Craig White.
Bet he knows the mileage on my car and how many twists I put on the safety wire! Richard |
Worth every Penny
I have to say Its worth every Penny

Actually I love the look of your Cobra wheels, they look fantastic. I've gone for the same original style wheels and will fit the same recessed AC logo centre caps as you have to my knock-off wheel hubs . I've also bought the same Yokohama Avid S/T tyres before they were discontinued. Richard, at the Nationals I meant to ask what you thought of the Yokohama Avids? I don't expect miracles, anything better than the performance you get out of a Bridgestone TA will do me. |
Hi Craig.
The Avids went OK on the hillclimb, go-to-whoa and the drags. Not as sticky as my Michelins but there was no chance to warm them up for the short events. (even now I'm just warming up after the Nationals!) I reckon with a bit more attention to pressures (too high for the drags) I could have done a little better.... and,oh...practice may have helped and talent was a bit skinny. Overall, the Avids are a pretty good road tyre and GREAT value. I reckon your brother could do 11's with them on my car!! By the way, I cracked the plastic face on one of my AC wheel caps (as if you didn't notice!!!). Does Snakebite stock these as single items? See you at Shelbyfest? Richard |
Sounds like the Avids will suit me perfectly. Mostly road use and a bit of track use.
The trick is you don't get people like my brother to track test your Cobra. That way you never really find out how slow you really are. I'm certainly not going to let him drive my Cobra on the track, I just don't want to know how slow I am. Snake Bite have got those same AC Press Emblems. I don't think they are listed on the site(slack web admin). I'll get a price, update the site and PM you. |
I didn't know Bridgestone made T/A's
