Z4 as Latter day Cobra?

It would not surprise me to find that this comparison has been made before, but on the way to work today a Z4 coupe went by and from the side-rear view the comparison to the Daytona shape was remarkable - now that BMW is putting those curvey bits everywhere.

Looking at the specs it seems you can have the Roadster or a Coupe and according to the web site the 'M' models pull about 8,000rpm - normally aspirated (a bit old school).

Some of the parallels are quite striking.

So if 'someone' (reliable) had of kept building Cobra it seems plausable to me that they'd be something like the Z4.

Got me wondering, would a Z4 Coupe sate your Daytona lust?

If you check out the 5th Gear review of the Z4-M they draw a direct comparison between it and the Cobra.

Fixed the link. Here's a link to the full video of the review: Z4-M review
