G'Day Alfie,
What sort of muffling does this design do ? How loud/quiet are they ?
I have a pair of untested 3 foot hotdogs and I'm not sure if they will be quiet at all so I'm looking for an alternative set-up. Just in case.

Ive been told that they will pass the 92db idle test with the cats. I have 1100mm of muffler and the 4 inch cats. Unfortunatly I wont know till I front up at MVR and do the test. Iam looking at some marine silencers they use on the speed boats in the US that will drop 4-5db so they will be my back up plan.

Nice one Alfie

Looks like you're following the traditional path of gettin the sidepipes done way ahead of the rest of the car (coz they look so cool)

Also legal in WA but what happens when you drive into one of them backwards states that the fun police run. Do you need to do an exhaust change at the border or will the permit / engineering be recognised?

Nice pipes too by the way Alffie & Mike, I think I'll have a go t my own as well afet your inspiration. Try getting a quote for stailnless side pipes for a cobra and keeping your virginity intact.

I figure I can stuff it up at least 3 - 4 times before I'm out of pocket.

Alfie

They look good. The corkscrew insert will re direct back into the sides and should reduce the noise.

Summit racing have a pyramid dome that is an insert that also reduces noise, check their exhaus/muffler section out. - if you find you are too high in the dB readings. The insert does not reduce flow as the surface area is greater than the internal measurement of the pipes

I was told by the NT guys that it will be legal to drive interstate (as vehicle is NT compliant and registered) but engineering most likely would not be approved if sold interstate.

Hey Michael is that Harry Potter's torso we can see in that picture?

Otherwise how have you managed to levitate the rear end of that unsupported motor in your pic?

It's magic!??!

boxhead 03-16-2008 06:40 PM

How Australian is that, Corrugated iron floor :)

stephen low 03-16-2008 07:26 PM

Boxhead that's a typical RMC / GForce finish with both kits providing f/glass inner panels as well as this corri steel work to reduce stone impact / heat transmission etc.

Not only that but the traditional workshop footware too.%/

To answer your question Stephen, the engine mounts seemed to be quite happy to hold the engine in place - a little bit wobbly but it held up
