bonnet scoop
Hi all Iam tossing up between bonding my scoop in smooth with the bonnet line or using Dzus fasteners. What looks the best?

Really depends on the look you are going for.
Bonding the scoop on gives you a very clean look and most people(non-Cobra enthusiasts) expect the scoop to be fully integrated as that is how scoop are on other vehicles. I must admit I haven't seen dsus fasters used for the scoop. It's not like you will want to remove it very often. And removeability is the main advantage of dsus fasteners. Most common are rivets and stainless button head bolts for attaching the scoop. What is your future intensions ? Will you need to remove the scoop in the future ?
Most bonnets have the scoop moulded on. or.. they are riveted on like the originals. My own car has a moulded in scoop but I am going to the trouble of creating a lip and attaching false rivets.. . .Dzus fasteners are cool. I'm using them in the boot and on the oil cooler ducts. Smithy |
