fuel tank measurements
gday guys,now that the fest is over its forward and onward with the project
can anyone help with measurements approx 70 ltr i am getting fuel tank made and the dimensions are 685 x 600 x ??depth?? = 70 ltrs approx,,,, i want to make sure it doesnt sit to low and not to proud in boot area either thanks darrell (shelbyfest 2009) |
685mm x 600mm x170mm = approx 70 litres

Edit: beaten to it! At least you have the formula now. :)
Darrell, using this link we know that 70000000 cubic mm is equivalent to the 70L tank you require. Dividing that number by 685 then by 600 I'm left with 170mm as the required depth. I'd go slightly deeper as these are outside dimensions and you will lose a bit to the tank walls, baffles, internal pump (if applicable), pickup, etc. Whatever dimensions you choose, multiply the 3 together (in mm) and divide by 1 million to get the litres. Or you could convert every thing to metres including the number of litres as of course 1000 litres occupies 1 cubic metre
