Anyone that goes to Australia will be treated to hospitality of the highest degree. Even strangers that waited on me in the cafes were friendly and wanted to know where I was from. They all offered suggestions of interesting places to see. Their enthusiasm was obvious as they were telling about a particular place to visit.
Barry, Di, and Brook, I thank you again for the great food and conversation. I am very interested in those racing days of the sixties and to hear Barry speak of them with such a good memory is awesome. Not only to here about these stories first hand but to get a CD disc from him that has some fantastic photos of the old days. It doesn't get any better. I wish I would have had the time to play a loop with Barry and Brook. I just might get that chance next year.;) Kudos on their win at the club. I look forward to your visits and hope that I'm able to show you some of our American hospitality. Hersh:) |
Hersh,
Barry and Broooke have been playing possum.. Then went down there and cleaned the entire club up..%/ Again good to hear that you enjoyed it all. |
happy for you, Hershal, with such a wonderful and memorable trip. :)
sounds like Bernie and gang 'did you good'. :D you don't have to get the pics to 39k to post. that is for an avatar, i believe. You should be able to resize them to 600x800 or so. I'm not sure, but certainly not so tiny!! If you can, try to post a couple, anyway!!!! Off to Austin in the morning. Not too terribly far from Fredericksburg, your future home here in Big T. Hopefully you'll be able to make a Spring Meet soon! take care, Kristen |

Kristen, Just a pratice run to get ready for you and the gang from Sunnyvale..:3DSMILE: |
Another run down the freeway?????
 |
Hershal,
Fantastic to hear that you had a great time touring parts of Victoria with Bernie. Victoria has some really nice places to visit, particularly the Great Ocean Road. Victorians are considered to be South of the Border Mexicans by us northeners. Now, we live in God's country, beautiful one day, perfect the next. You should come and visit us on your next trip (or any other Cobraphiles). Possible itinerary could start with the Qld Cobra Club breakfast on the gold coast (Surfers Paradise) and maybe an organised group run up to the hinterland (what do you reckon Warren, maybe an annual run for our overseas bretheren) then up the highway to Nth Queensland with us coming down to pick you up half way and then show you some really spectacular scenery. Tropical Rainforests, Great Barrier Reef, The outback and many places in between. You will need a few weeks or multiple visits. This thread will probably get the Southeners steaming a bit (they're always jealous of us living in paradise). Like Texas, everything is bigger and better in Queensland. Let the comments roll. |

Mmm another run down the freeway.. If you keep reminding him he will never let me drive the GT40 in Ohio again.. Hell I thought the 200mph was actually 200 km/hour - just a little bit of confusion on my part thought I was reading an Australia speedo... |
Hershal.
After the cyclone through here last week we were certainly lucky to have had the good weather on the trip. Still cleaning up after the storm... |
Hersh,
Did any of the photos (size) work out.. |
Bernie,
I think I have solved the photo problem. Sorry for such a slow response but I worked at getting this up so I can share. Go here and see if it works for all you guys. www.gt40andcobralover.com I don't have the video as yet. I need to figure out how to reduce it from 52 meg to a workable size. I don't know how to do that yet but I'm working on it.:3DSMILE: Hodson, I can't wait to go back. Maybe the next time Bernie will invite me to tour the Northern part with him in his GT. Now that would be a blast.:MECOOL: I hope you enjoy the site and I will update it as I learn more. Cylcone ? Man I hope it didn't do too much damage. I know you and Anne are working hard to finish the remodel. A setback is not fun. At least nobody was hurt. Hersh:) |
Hershal,
Yes can open the photos of Phillip Island and the Great Ocean Road. Look good. Will keep an eye out for the video if you can work it out. A trip to Qld. would be great in the GT40. Bernie |
