Iain Pretty at Bathurst

Thought some of you speed demons would enjoy the attached few laps of Bathurst, with Iain Pretty at the wheel.

Not a very clear picture, but with the sound turned up ( Gotta LOVE the sound of a 347 Ford Stroker ) and the eyes squinted.....it's pretty cool.

Most of us know the track very well, ( From watching the Bathurst 1000 , or even Playstation !!!:LOL: )

Would LOVE to get the red racer around that track.

Hope you enjoy it,

Regards,

Warren.

I'm still a long way from driving my 347 Cobra, but it still impresses me, how quickly they pull in another car under hard acceleration.

Great sound. What was top end speed on the straight.??

Wazza; that was great! I think the Panorama circuit is one of the greatest and most underrated circuits in the world.
Question; If Bernie and Max will let F1 run the streets of Monaco why won't they let F1 run Panorama instead of Melbourne? If you can master Bathurst you've earned your "attachments"......soft walls, indeed!

Videos of Bathurst do not do the gradient any justice. You truely are climbing up and down the side of a mountain. Also there are several 'humps' on the track which would severely interupt the downforce dynamics of a F1 cars. No doubt you would see a few F1s flipping over. In the video in this thread you can hear the driver actually back off when going over the first one on Mountain straight.

But I agree...a brilliant racetrack

There's 12 NSW drivers who had the opportunity to do Mount Panorama for about 4 laps behind a pacecar ( John Goss in the Green XJS) at the inaugural Easter International Motorfest in 2006. Acecob was one, so was I. Beats playstation any day and the smiles on faces after that demo run:):):):):):):):):)**)**)**):D:D:D:D:JEKYLHYDE:c ool::cool::cool:

HSVREDSLED: Couldn't you look at the "humps" as an aerodynamic engineering challenge? Things like "talent" and "courage" might also come into play. Trying to answer the question; " Do I lift for Eau Rouge, at Spa?" I'll bet ole Black Jack and Denny knew how to handle the "yumps!" The current talent pool in F1 appears problematic, especially in the back half of the field, they could stand a little refresher course at Panorama.
