Heat Insulation Paint
I'm chasing ideas for paint-on heat insulation (something ceramic would be nice). It would be applied to the inside top of the front wheel arches to prevent the panels from overheating and pulling. (Live sidepipes appear to be causing other kits similar to mine to cure a bit more in the tops of the arches).
Here's the catch,... I'd rather apply it with a brush than a spray gun, as the engine install is 90% complete and I have installed powder-coated aluminium cladding around the rest of the engine bay (masking and access would not be easy) . I have done a bit of reading into Lizard Skin, but it looks as though this stuff really has to be sprayed on. Any suggestions gladly welcomed. |
Hi Andrew,
I used Nansulate high temp and painted on 15 layers. I bought 1/2 a gallon from Bobby Brown, he also used it with great results. A Gallon will do 2 cars +. Not sure where Bobby got it from, just google Nansulate for info. |
