At the Mcleans Bridge (QLD Aust) annual classic car show (Mothers Day) was this exquistly presented modern version of the Cobra --fantastic what do ya think ??

The car looked great and the concept of virtually a single donor car is a good idea. This would have to go close to be the best ICV made by a Australian manufacturer.

Is that the SC540 as put together by Dennis Bedford?.

Looks good

400TT 05-11-2008 05:10 AM

Yep, that's the SC540.

Fantastic hey.

Those photos don't really show it's full size. To give you an idea, it uses a full size production Falcon dash.

I expect Yve(or is it Chris) also means D.R.B. as in Denis Robert Bedford. Not DRB Sportscars, unless there is some news I don't know about.

Would be great if some of the SC540 owners on this forum show us some build photos. :D

Craig,
As soon as I take some photos I post them. I try for this week. The web page for copycat cars shows some good pictures.

Actually a replica of the "Daisy" project. A modern cobra version mooted by Ford back in about 2004....but even then was old news.

see here: http://media.ford.com/newsroom/featu...?release=16649

and discussed on CC here:
http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/show...t=modern+cobra

Personally, I'd like something with more of the cobra styling cues.

A couple of CC members drew up some images they thought more appealing to us Cobra fellas....I'll see if I can find them.

Rebel1 05-11-2008 08:51 PM

Here ya go....check this thread out:

http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/show...t=modern+cobra

Now these are nice and have more of the classical cobra styling cues.

A credit to Buzz....he got it right.
