They have a new 'site Paul that does not seem to have anything on fuel pumps.

Wasn't the reference to Castlemaine Rod Shop regarding wiper motors? Anyway on their new site there's a button on the right that links to their old site, which contains the PDF catalogues. That's where my link pointed.
If the Harrison wiper setup comes from CRS (can anybody confirm this?) I'll get on the old fashioned dog and bone tomorrow. :) |
You don't have to do that Paul, but thanks anyway. I suspect that of the four connections on the BA Fuel pump the RHS one is for +ve, the LHS is for Ground and the other middle two are for the integrated fuel gauge sensors (not used on the Cobra). Time will tell!

Woops! Wrong problem answered! Busy and long day. The wiper wires codes would be useful if they are obtainable. I cannot see a sticker or name on my motor - new from Warwick. The sheet of paper with it has different wiring descriptions.
Merv  |
I dont know where your wiper motor comes from and I dont know where Warrick gets his supply from as I never asked. I know that the motor Warrick supplied me was the same as the Castlemain kit that they were selling as a "cobra kit" (which does not appear on their new or old site now). I had the wrong wiring diagram and rang them when I could not contact Warrick and they sent me the wiring diagram and it worked. I am sorry but if I was home I could send it.

whatare the 4 colours
is it an oval rectangle plug usually 2 outer are thicker wires than the inner so they are fuel pump im getting diags now so will see later |
is there a yellow wire and a orange wire
these are sender for an au series 2 so might be similar on ba then is there a thick black/yellow trace wire this is usually the power to the pump then there might be a thick black which is usually ground for fuel pump |
It is a sealed female socket for a 4 pin plug on top of the BA Fuel pump - socket is round on the edges about 3 cm long. All in white plastic, no colours evident. Maybe I should pull it out and see if there are more clues inside. Did not want to risk moving the gasket now.

just cut the tubing round the wiries
found out yelow/green is fuel level sensor signal black is ground for fuel level sender other 2 should be fuel pump power havent u got the other end of the wires which are cut opposite to fuel pump where is gasket the plug on fuelpump assembly should come off pretty esily or sorry its a ford pump so might take some hard work hehehehehehe i just use factory holden fuel pump assemblies cheaper and i can get the factory plugs for them brand new |
i just realised u dont have the plug forthe fuelpump assembly
goto wreckers and get a plug might make things easier ive got holden ones but not sure how close they are to ford |
Thanks Sideshow! Good advice as usual. I have a brand new Ford pump fitted to the ally tank and was not keen to remove it again. I could go chase a plug at the wreckers I suppose but thought that I would try to find out from Ford which of the 4 connectors was for the power and ground - for the pump. No 'go' there. I did test for a second with a low amp 12-volt source on the outer two pins of the row of 4 (RHS and LHS) and that spins the pump. Sooooo, off to the wrecker I guess to confirm all this!

Wiring
Merv
There are two images in my gallery that outline the wiring on my car. These are a little out of date and I will email you the latest versions. No painless loom though so may not be particularly useful. I haven't included them here because they are a little large. I also have a couple of images of my fuel pump - 4 male terminals, earth on far left, supply on far right. I will also email you these. Do you have a wiring diagram for the wipers? The one I have worked perfectly with the Lucas wiper switch and wiper motor from Warwick - including park. I will try to dig this up. Do you have the Lucas wiper switch? As I understand it this is necessary to get the park to work correctly. Cheers Geof |
Thanks Geof. So, earth is on the far left and supply on far right. Great. Images would be good also!
Re the wipers: I have several wiring diagrams including the one from Warwick but the colours described on that have no relationship to the colours on the motor ("Universal Cable Driven Wiper Kit") that was with it. I do have the correct Lucas wiper switch. I seem to have been able to identify the slow speed (Green/Red), fast speed (yellow/blue), and the power (black) from relay to motor wires abut there are two left - one (?) of which is park. More testing and trial and error needed! Merv |
O7COB
Geof, I love your reverse lights, they are the best idea I have seen on a Cobra, what are they from? Harry. |
Rev Lights
Harry
Many thanks!! I would like to take responibility for them but I have to say I stole the idea from a number of Cobras up here. The lenses are from an XF Falcon and I have festoon style trailer lamps behind them. I really wanted to *hide* the reverse lights so made sure they were right in the middle of the stripes. I even went for a wider stripe after I deceided to go for a 30mm centre gap instead of 50mm, just to make sure the lenses were centered. Cheers Geof |
Wiper Info
Merv
I think I may have used the detail on this site for the wipers for the terminal information (I just ignored the colours). http://www.kirkhammotorsports.com/ma...permotor.shtml Cheers Geof |
07cob,
I was looking through your gallery and noticed the new paint job. It looks like a really sharp job. Where does that blue come from? It looks similar to Graig Whites GT40. Regards. |
Quote:
I can't remember what Geof's blue is called. It's a Holden colour isn't it Geof? His silver stripes are memorable though - Hi Ho Silver(old HSV colour). |
Finally worked out the wiring colours/functions on this damned wiring motor (Lucas like?). If anyone else has a Harrison and gets one here are the details (no relay installed at this stage but that should be no problem).
Black = negative Green/white stripe to Lucas Switch Pin 4 (power in at this pin) Blue/Red stripe to Lucas Pin 2 (Park) Green/Red Stripe to Pin 6 (Slow Speed) Yellow/Blue stripe to Pin 8 (Fast Speed) A lot of fiddling with small jumper cables to find that lot out! Merv |

Well done on the investigation. Your wiper motor definately sounds like a different colour scheme to mine. Mando As Craig suggests, they are similar until they are sitting side by side. The colour is from the VY-VZ-VE Commodore range and is called Impulse Metallic or Impulse Blue and the stripes are indeed Ho Ho Silver (good memory, Craig!) Cheers Geof |
