Pro Shifter - short throw

I have a T5 gearbox on a Mustang '92 302 on the way this week. Will be refurbishing it over coming weeks. Can anyone tell me about the so called, "Pro Shifter" short throw adapters, for example, (http://www.finishlineaccessories.com...dee288a99e24ac)

Are they a useful addition to the car or just a dress up item?

Merv,

I have one. Its OK for the money. It is definitely less expensive than say a B&M or Steeda
but not as nice.

But do they work well for the extra space taken? Any probs connecting to the T5?

Mine shifted much better once I installed a short throw shifter, especially going from second to third. Plus, most of these shifters have adjustable stops to keep the shifter from traveling too far. I bought mine off ebay for about $100.00 after using the stock shifter for a few hundred miles. Big improvement. Here's a similar one:

Thanks for that. I just bought one from Finishline. The only problem is that it may interfere with the fuel lines in my transmission tunnel. Will need to do some re-routing.

Many thanks for your reply,

Merv
