Ford 5.0L EFI Throttle Body/Plenum

Cleaning up my Ford motor and have removed the throttlebody and was wondering if I should clean the inside of this. Various suggestions on the 'net including using carb cleaner but some say not too as there was/is a coating that stops deposits. Not sure if I should clean it and if so with what? There is some carbon depositing.

do not clean inside with anything harsh

u will rip the teflon coating on the butterfly

best to clean with every day kero or diesel

and a rag

otherwise yr idle might be hi

SO kero would be OK? I used some warm water and a little household detergent and then flushed it and blew it out with the air compressor on medium. Will try the kero. NOt too worried as i will replace it with a MassFlow system after rego.

Thanks.

Merv
