I have a better idea. How about you Post an RCR 40 and an SL C up here, via courier...:D:D If not, then I guess posting a few photos will do...:3DSMILE: |
Here we are deep into this thread and you Aussies have left out the most important thing...PICTURES.
Where are the PICTURES???? I can see the US RCR pics anytime and they are down the street and around the corner, but we want to see what our brothers in "the down under" are getting from RCR. :D :D :D :D :D |
I'll have plenty of photos, no doubt about that. Will post them up straight after the event.
No teasers before the event though, people will have to come and see for themselves. :D |
Hope the event is a big success. Id love to be there and see all the different kits available. Cant wait to see the pics.
Again Good Luck. Regards. |
Oi uncle Craig, would this be the SL-C John will be peddling at run n gun after the nationals?.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NM3ZIscbIw Sounds very BAD! I wonder if Mr Ferguson has seen this video. ;):D |

I agree, very bad:eek::eek: Richard |
No, that's a SL-C that Breathless Performance(USA) has built as a demo vehicle.
John will be driving a black SL-C with some really trick graphics work on it. It's currently being prepared at the RCR shop. Chev LS7 & Ricardo gearbox. Even the LS7 has been tweaked with aftermarket cams etc as 500HP is just not enough. You really have to see a SL-C in the flesh to appreciate it. It's just out of this world. The first SL-C in Aus will have it's unveiling at the Open Day this Sunday. |
For anybody undecided about coming to the open day, I can highly recommend it. We've put in a huge effort to get some very special RCR cars available for viewing.
It's the first public appearance of the SL-C in Australia. Also the first public appearance of the SL-R in Australia. And most people would not have been fortunate enough to experience an RCR-40 either. All these vehicles are customer owned, so it's with great gratitude that we have been fortunate enough to secure them for the open day. In my opinion the RCR vehicles are really something special and they possess a level of engineering, design and construction we have not witnessed in Australia before. Plus there will be other interesting vehicles, parts & accessories on display. And I'll be sure to post photos for those that can't make it. |
As to that U-Tube link and taking a line from "Raiders of the Lost Ark", I even like the colour!
Something about yellow on HiPo cars, it's the new Ferrari red me thinks!! |
Looks like the open day was a sucess..

Spent the morning enjoying the RCR open day.
What a very enjoyable day this was. The cars presented beautifully, the great weather, the fantastic hospitality with food and drinks, a great crew on hand, and first rate organization. I'll bet none of them will be able to talk tonight as I don't think any of them drew breath during the day such were the enquiries. Standouts to me were the two lightweights. The coupe is just beautiful and with the LS7 in the back will make for more than a handful. I'd been told the glass molding was almost perfect and that's certainly the case. The roadster?....well, I predict is going to be one hell of a seller. Much larger than I thought and will make one hell of a track car at very reasonable cost. Dunno what the crowd count will be but the place was always full, and full with potential buyers. In the time I was there I chatted to two potential buyers for the coupe. Pics I'm sure will come later from Craig and from what I saw, this was a most successful day. |
It sounds like a good turn out.
Looking forward to seeing the cars at the Nationals! Ben |
Thanks Les for the feedback. :) Glad you like the cars. Sorry I didn't get to chat, but you saw how it was.
My head is still spinning. We had hundreds and hundreds of people through the factory. Robert from Custom Kitcar counted over 100 people in the factory at one point with many more outside. We did have stuff on display outside as well along with BBQ etc. Thanks to everyone that came out to have a look. Fantastic stuff. We didn't actually get that many Cobra Club members. But they will have plenty of opportunity to view the cars. I'll post some photos when I get a chance. BMK, thanks for the photo. :D Beejay, open day over, now we've just got to get as many RCR cars to the Nationals as we can. We will have a very busy few weeks. |
Robert from Custom Kit Car just gave me some photos. Most were in RAW format which I can't convert at the moment, so here are couple of the JPGs to keep you guys happy in the meantime.

Congratulations Craig on a great day. The cars look fantastic and although the pic above shows me pointing at the SL-R, I haven't quite opened the cheque book....!!

Yeah, bluddy cockroach hogging the camera.
Note me in the 4th pic, not hogging the camera. Shy lil fella that I am. ;) |
