Shocky mounts

Hi Fellas

Haven't posted for a while but still tinkering away with Harrison #37 in the shed.

For reasons that Warwick can't fathom the rear upper shock mounts on my car are positioned so that when the Avos are in place the springs foul on the round thingy forming part of the R32 suspension arm. So I've just re-welded them a little further forward which seems to have rectified the problem.

Now to the point.......... the fella whom I bought the part built car from used nolathane bushes on the top shock mount, rather than an eyeball fitting perhaps in an attempt to negate the odd angle produced by the shock mounts welded in the wrong place.

Now that things all seem lined up do I use the steel eyeball bearings or nolathane bushes to mount the shocky?

Will the nolathane quieten the ride but sacrifice handling perhaps?

Thanks

Greg

Steel spherical bearings will transmit a fair bit of road noise...Do you have working sidepipes ? You probably wont hear it. Nolathane bushes are far firmer than factory rubber and are designed to replace and improve the performance of original rubber.
Steel bushes are good for race cars.( they get rebuilt regularly/weekly ) Nolathane, fitted properly do the job fine..... S**t I should be selling the things ! ;p

Thanks for your 2 bobs worth Rob.

I'm still a little early into my build to think about side pipes, but I get your drift!

Think I might stick to the Nolathane, I can always swap over to steel bearings later if I hit the track seriously.

Greg
